Welcome to me

What if you win the lottery but you have one catch you suffer from personality disorder what you would turn up for your winnings? In Welcome To Me UK Trailer , Kristen Wiig plays a woman who decides to spend all her money on a creating a talk show….

To many Wiig will be known for Saturday Night Live, Bridesmaids or the upcoming Ghostbusters, but many not know she has made a career in independent film playing quirky women, this film is no different.

Welcome To Me tells the story of a young woman with Borderline Personality Disorder wins the lottery? In the case of Alice Klieg (Kristen Wiig), she immediately quits her psychiatric meds and buys her own talk show.

Welcome To Me follows a year in the life of this “extraordinary” woman, who, inspired by the immortal Oprah, broadcasts her dirty laundry as both a form of exhibitionism and a platform to share her peculiar views on everything from nutrition to relationships to neutering pets. As her national audience rapidly grows, her family, friends and colleagues all become increasingly entangled in Alice’s show.

This film looks to showcase her unique talents to play a diverse range of characters proving she can deliver not just in comedy but also drama too. It’s hard to believe this film premiered at Toronto Film Festival 2014 and has taken nearly 2 years to arrive in UK, though it’s a film that’s came with positively strong reviews. The film does possess comedy moments might be a little dark tonely but backed up thanks to Wiig’s performance some described as naturally realistic with a pedigree to make us all laugh.

Welcome To Me will arrive in UK cinemas and Video On Demand (exclusively to Sky Store)  at the same time on 25th March. The film also stars James Marsden, Wes Bentley, Joan Cusack and Tim Robbins.
