After previously working together on Frances Ha and Greenberg, Noah Baumbach and Greta Gerwig have reunited again in Mistress America and we have a couple of clips for your viewing pleasure.
As with Frances Ha, Gerwig has joined the director on writing duties, which looks to be more of a screwball comedy than some of Baumbach’ earlier films, yet continues with the strong female friendships theme and young people trying to find their place in the world that we saw in Frances Ha.
Synopsis –In MISTRESS AMERICA, Tracy (Lola Kirke) is a lonely college freshman in New York, having neither the exciting university experience nor the glamorous metropolitan lifestyle she envisioned. But when she is taken in by her soon-to-be stepsister, Brooke (Greta Gerwig) – a resident of Times Square and adventurous gal about town – she is rescued from her disappointment and seduced by Brooke’s alluringly mad schemes.
Mistress America is released in UK cinemas on 14th August.
