Bleach 15 part 1 [rating=4]

The Invading Army

With Aizen’s defeat, peace has returned to the both the Soul Society and the World of the Living. But soon reports begin to surface of Soul Reapers going missing in the Precipice World, and Ichigo is a prime suspect. He and Rukia go on the run from the 13 Court Guard Squads, while in the World of the Living, Kon finds an unconscious girl lying in the street. When Ichigo and Rukia find out more about the girl, Nozomi, they realize their world, as well as the Soul Society, is in danger, and the Soul Reapers pursuing them and Nozomi are actually imposters known as Reigai, who have switched places with the missing Soul Reapers!

Don’t be discouraged by the fact that this is all filler.
As many of you are aware, I’m not a fan of filler especially in Bleach.
This is one of the odd cases where it’s been entertaining.
There’s a lot of fighting tooth and nail in this and not simply against a new race of supernatural being (Like the Bount Arc was) This keeps in mind Ichigo’s new challenges with his weakened Soul reaper powers.

So I’ll break it down in the way I know how: Story, Animation, Fight, Character Development, Bonus features.

The story itself is good for filler.
Keeps a consistency with the previous arc and bears in mind the struggles of each character up to that point. It doesn’t quite come up to Canon standard plot, then again it does stand above Filler standards. So a full star goes for Story/Plot.

Animation is the newer animation which didn’t quite have the same effect as previous animation, maybe it was the tv I was watching it on but they all seemed a little stretched.
It was definitely watchable, and not too noticeable once you decide to forget about it. So to animation I’m going to give a half star.

Fighting is brilliant as we have come to expect.
To be honest I prefer this arc for fights – so far- over the Ichigo vs Aizen battle.
However my favourite fights come from The Fall of the Arrancar arcs.
None of the fights are overpowered, which is brilliant everyone, including captains are fighting tooth and nail. It’s worth a full star.

Character development is another full star.
The arc shows us more on characters that were previously in the background, and didn’t get quite enough screen time. I won’t point out which characters, but it seemed to me that there was a slight change in cast that wasn’t particularly that noticeable.

The bonus features are up to Bleach standard; not great.
A few trailers at the start of the disc, most of them which are on all the other discs.
That’s about it. I’m going to be generous and give a half star simply because the Extras have never been that great in Bleach.

Overall it is good, and I personally can’t wait to dive into Part 2
