Arnie Goes Dramatic In First Trailer For Zombie Pic Maggie

Arnold Schwarzenegger-MAGGIE
Who said you can’t teach an old dog new tricks? In the first trailer for Drama Maggie Arnold Schwarzenegger goes dramatic in the name of his little girl, a zombie.

Ahead of its now new destination Tribeca Film Festival and it’s delayed World premiere we get our first look at a film the sounds set up for an all out action film, what we get is something unexpected…

If you ever believed Austrian’s greatest cinematic export would ever star in an indie with a lot of emotional impact Maggie is that proof. When you conjure the notion you would automatically conjure the idea of a shirtless Arnie with big guns destroying a horde of the undead. He’s not the same young man who killed Predators, spies, nearly destroyed the human race and looking at what we see in the trailer he just might be a very good move.

Maggie  sees Arnie as Wade a small town farmer who is gradually coming to terms that his daughter (Abigail Breslin) has been infected and is slowly succumbing to the infection that is turning her into a zombie. As the infection spreads and her cannibalistic start to take over Wade defies the authorities to protect her in anyway.

It’s refreshing that first time feature director Henry Hobson  he approaches the zombie epidemic in a different way and that the infected don’t die and rise as walkers like they do in The Walking Dead. It’s treated as virus, but as you’ll see it’s all in the backdrop of the film making the film more compelling, character driven story. It still has a dark tone to it and I do feel connections with the likes of Joe as in the setting and type of character Arnie plays too.

There is no word on when Maggie will be released in UK but in USA you will be able to see it on 8th May. The film also stars Joely Richardson, Laura Cayouette, J.D. Evermore and Raeden Greer.
