They say space is a lonely and in Alfonso Cuaron’s Gravity it’s been a long long road to become reality tonight it’s taken one closer, enjoy the first trailer.

It’s been a long time coming from Robert Downey Jr, Angelina JolieNaomi Watts, Natalie Portman, Scarlett Johansson, Marion Cotillard, Carey Mulligan, Sienna Miller, Abbie Cornish, Rebecca Hall, Olivia Wilde,Blake Lively finally settling with George Clooney and Sandra Bullock.  When a film is constantly delayed it’s not usually a good sign however extra time for special effects especially a certain 20 minute CGI friendly scene which some (Guilermo Del Toro) are saying i ahead of its times. When you here comments like that along with fantastic buzz from the early test screenings you cant be nothing but excited. What we see from the trailer it looks time well spent, intense, chilling, stunning cinematography a film that could serious be considered Oscar bait in the technical categories.

Whats Gravity all about? Sandra Bullock stars as Dr Ryan Stone a scientist on a mission with George Clooney as veteran  astronaut Matt Kowalsky whose ship is involved in a mid flight disaster which the pair find themselves in a race against time.

Gravity will be unleashed in UK&Ireland 18th October.

Synopsis

Bullock plays Dr. Ryan Stone, a brilliant medical engineer on her first shuttle mission, with veteran astronaut Matt Kowalsky (Clooney) in command of his last flight before retiring.  But on a seemingly routine spacewalk, disaster strikes.  The shuttle is destroyed, leaving Stone and Kowalsky completely alone—tethered to nothing but each other and spiraling out into the blackness.

The deafening silence tells them they have lost any link to Earth…and any chance for rescue.  As fear turns to panic, every gulp of air eats away at what little oxygen is left.

But the only way home may be to go further out into the terrifying expanse of space.
