There’s no word yet on exactly what part Matt Smith will play at this moment whatever it is, this news is an sign of how much progress Smith has went since he took over from David Tennant in the iconic  role. Tennant himself after his spell as the doctor attempted to break into the American market but sadly flopped with the 2011 remake of Fright Night and pilot  TV series Rex Is Not Your Lawyer which failed to be picked up by a network.Smith himself  has just finished his own directorial debut  with short film Cargese for the Sky Arts series Playhouse Presents which will make it’s own premier in April

Matt Smith has just finished filming the rest of the current series of Doctor Who which is due to be screened on BBC One at the end of March with film for To Catch A Monster due to start production in Detroit this May.

So is this a ambitious or extremely risky first time feature for the Drive star and does Matt Smith deserve the chance shine across the Atlantic? Love to know your thoughts by leaving them in the comments section below.
