Bilbo Gets His Own Poster For The Hobbit:An Unexpected Journey

With Tolkien week coming to an end today we have a new poster for The Hobbit:An Unexpected Journey. After this weeks fantastic new second trailer today we get the start of the character posters and of our film’s hero Bilbo Baggins played by Martin Freeman giving us a serious stare. You can also see Bilbo is holding something that we met back in the Lord of The Rings Trilogy , Sting! No not the American wrestler but the magical sword which the older Bilbo gave Frodo during his journey through Middle Earth. With this trilogy concentrating on Bilbo’s adventures we’ll assume we’ll see him get the Mithril jacket, we know we’ll see the trolls, the dragons and all sorts of weird and wonderful creatures some familiar others news which connect both trilogies together

After last week’s trailer really making us beg for more footage, so quench that urge for more footage a short trailer was released under the radar which reveals not just one but 5 alternate endings! Well when we mean under the radar just hidden by the good folks at Warner bros and you’ll see in one one the ending Bilbo is told by Balin (Ken Stott) his new sword Sting (as seen in the new poster) may just be a big letter opener!

The Hobbit:An Unexpected Journey stars Martin Freeman, Ian McKellen, James Nesbitt, Stephen Hunter, Mark Hadlow, Graham McTavish, Dean Ogorman, Peter Hambleton, Aidan Turner, Jed Brophy, John Callen, Adam Brown, Ken Stott, William Kircher, Andy Serkis, and Richard Armitage.

The Hobbit follows the journey of title character Bilbo Baggins, who is swept into an epic quest to reclaim the lost Dwarf Kingdom of Erebor, which was long ago conquered by the dragon Smaug. Approached out of the blue by the wizard Gandalf the Grey, Bilbo finds himself joining a company of thirteen dwarves led by the legendary warrior, Thorin Oakensheild. Their journey will take them into the Wild; through treacherous lands swarming with Goblins and Orcs, deadly Wargs and Giant Spiders, Shapeshifters and Sorcerers.

Although their goal lies to the East and the wastelands of the Lonely Mountain first they must escape the goblin tunnels, where Bilbo meets the creature that will change his life forever … Gollum.

Here, alone with Gollum, on the shores of an underground lake, the unassuming Bilbo Baggins not only discovers depths of guile and courage that surprise even him, he also gains possession of Gollum’s precious ring that holds unexpected and useful qualities … A simple, gold ring that is tied to the fate of all Middle-earth in ways Bilbo cannot begin to know.
