AVENGERS ASSEMBLE Dominates UK Box Office For Second Weekend, As The Overall World Box Office Exceed $700m! Avengers 2 Is Coming!

This news is no surprise as it was on the cards when the first review arrived and now USA have seen Avengers (Assemble), the film has ripped the UK box office for second week  as well as take worldwide figures to $700million (£500million). The film reeks in awesomeness in all categories (maybe only let down by very dark 3D) and is on (fast) track to join the $1 billion club probably destroying current members such as Harry Potter, Transformers to a pulp . So the news is will Avengers Assemble 2 be in the works? Answer is Yes(sort of)!

As the film is on course to probably be the biggest grossing comic book film ever  and Disney in seven heaven with the Ghost of John Carter nearly wiped from existence, Deadline has stating Disney’s CEO Bob Iger is “hopeful” that a second movie will be in development which doesn’t mean there will be one however $700million in 2 weeks sounds like Disney have a mega cashcowand the success of the film is a forgone conclusion there will be another film. As when we have to say 2015 looks the earliest free schedule as Iron Man 3, Thor 2, Captain America 2 and probably Edgar Wright’s Ant Man taking up  the schedule line up for next 2 years is full. With this news do expect the usual rumours to rear their ugly heads, probably a campaign to have Joss Whedon directing but if we go by Marvel’s track record they have a tendency to  bypass directors (with exception of Jon Favreau) for new blood in follow up films, this could be a case of them breaking mold. It would also be silly to suggest Whedon wants to or even can come back just have to look at the The Hunger Games scenario with Gary Ross  people expecting him to return now we have Francis Lawrence at the helm for Catching Fire.

As and when things become more official, what plot there could be, who will direct or even star in Avengers Assemble 2 we will  bring you that news when it arrives.
