All Out For Love In First Trailer For LOLA VERSUS Stars Greta Gerwig

Last year despite been one of the film’s main characters she seemed to be the forgotten face for the piss poor Arthur marketing, Greta Gerwig but outside the depressive surroundings of Hollywood he has made name for herself in indie films and her latest has a trailer LOLA VERSUS.

Gerwig plays Lola a woman trying to get her life together again after her failed engagement to her rock star boyfriend (Joel Kinnaman, soon to be Robocop) couldn’t cope with the pressure of a long time commitment. Under the advise of her friends Lola try get her life together again and embrace life as a single woman again but soon struggles as finds don’t go right for her.

One first viewing of this trailer I’m like many of the other sites who have posted resembles the indie comedy stylings of (500) Days of Summer and if it does we wont be disappointed . Lola Versus does have a nice charm, quirkiness to it and does look like Greta Gerwig’s best performance in a long time  which could propel the actress into bigger Hollywood that some critics say she deserves.

No word on a UK or Irish release date though this is a Fox Searchlight  so do expect a release sometime this year, USA  release will be June 8th, the film stars also Zoe Lister Jones, Hamish Linklater, Bill Pullman, Debra Winger and you can catch Greta Gerwig next in UK&Ireland Damsels In Distress on April 27th.

Greta Gerwig plays Lola, a 29-year-old woman dumped by her longtime boyfriend Luke (Joel Kinnaman) just three weeks before their wedding. With the help of her close friends Henry (Hamish Linklater) and Alice (Zoe Lister-Jones), Lola embarks on a series of desperate encounters in an attempt to find her place in the world as a single woman approaching 30.
