The Hunger Games is certainly one of most anticipated films for 2012 and Gary Ross adaptation of the popular teen books by Suzanne Collins which stars Jennifer Lawrence (XMen: First Class), Josh Hutcherson (The Kids Are All Right), Donald Sutherland, Woody Harrelson, Elizabeth Banks and Lenny Kravitz.
In a era where film studios are looking for the next big film franchise with so many now finished or near the end of the road finding that elusive one will be the gold at the end of the rainbow and it looks like Lionsgate may have found that pot of gold in The Hunger Games. If your a stranger to the books like I am but are intrigued on the story, The Hunger Games is set in a post apocalyptic America where once a year television rules the roost and a boy & girl from each of the 12 districts are sent to participate in the ‘Hunger Games’. The contestants battle to their deaths, Katniss Everdeen (Lawrence) takes her younger sisters place when she’s drawn from the lottery, she’s a skilled hunter who can use the bow and arrow.
You can see from that description of the film this film will appeal to a wider audience compared to Twilight , im intrigued I love Post Apocalyptic flicks so its got my attention. What I never mentioned was each of the districts have a industry connected to it and thanks to IGN UK today we have 5 new spanking ‘district seals’ each representing a district which shows what industry its connected with too.
The Hunger Games Will be released on March 23rd 2012 in the UK & Ireland.
