There’s no surprise here that it was eventually going to be a movie of it and its going to happen. Dan Brown’s latest Book of the Da Vinci Code series THE LOST SYMBOL has got a writer for the film version of the book according to Sony entertainment.

Despite the poor sales worldwide of Angels and Demons movie and only taking in just over half the amount of income movie one did, Sony believe there’s still life in the Da Vinci Code series and want Professor Robert Langdon back for another adventure of church cover ups, murder and the masonic lodge.

The Question is, does Tom Hanks want to be Robert Kangdon again? If they haven’t done already you can expect Sony will make an massive money offer to make sure they their man once again.

Sony have hired the writing skills of Dirty Pretty Things &Eastern Promises writer Steven Knight to bring Dan Brown’s latest biggest book seller to the big screen. This time Robert Langdon has given the catholic church a rest and heads to Washington D.C to disect the symbology and dark secrets of the Masonic Lodge with many apronwearers vowing to take him out before everything is revealed.

Sony want 2012 release but with their main star not tied to a deal yet or even director Ron Howard at the helm, expect that to change very soon.
